Meet the Ensemble


Joanna Goldstein, flute

Joanna’s experience brings her to Ann Arbor from Boston and most recently California. While in Boston, she was a member of the woodwind quintet, Vento Chiaro, which she founded at the Peabody Conservatory. She also played with groups including the Boston Pops, Boston Esplanade Orchestra, Portland Symphony, Rhode Island Symphony, among others. During her brief residence in California, Joanna performed recitals and outreach with the group Ensemble San Francisco as well as concerts with the Santa Rosa Symphony, Stockton Symphony, and members of the San Francisco Symphony.


Shane Jones, percussion

Dr. Shane Jones is the Co-Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Percussion in 2017. He has studied and performed around the globe, including in Brazil, China, Trinidad/Tobago, Puerto Rico, West Africa, and across the United States. Shane has worked with internationally recognized ensembles such as Detroit Chamber Winds, Percussion Group Cincinnati, and Khemia Ensemble, and is a founding member of steelworks, a local steel drum band that performs traditional music of Trinidad and Tobago.
